WasPetInsuranceWorthIt.com is an independent consumer-research site. It exists to answer one question honestly: for a specific pet, with a specific breed, age, and vet-spending history, did pet insurance actually pay for itself? The calculator and the articles are built on published industry data — a 50,000-pet claims dataset, NAPHIA's annual industry report, and published procedure cost ranges — all of which are listed in full on the methodology page. The site carries no affiliate links, takes no insurance company sponsorship, and does not sell leads.
It is maintained by one person, not a company or an editorial team. That means replies can take a few days, but it also means corrections go straight to the person who can make them.

Messages worth sending:
- Corrections to our pet insurance data. If a premium average, breed risk figure, waiting period, or exclusion rule on this site is wrong or out of date, say so. Please include the page and the source you are correcting it against — a carrier policy document, a NAPHIA figure, or a published study. Corrections get made and the page gets updated.
- Methodology questions. If a calculator assumption does not make sense to you, or a number does not reconcile with what you were quoted, ask. The assumptions are documented, but documentation is not the same as being clear.
- Privacy requests and bug reports. Anything about how the site handles data — see the privacy policy first — or anything on the site that is visibly broken.
One thing this site cannot do: tell you which insurer to buy from, or review your specific policy. That is insurance advice, and nothing here is a substitute for it — see the terms and disclaimer.
